Sivaganga Sangeetha Parishad is a Charitable Trust, established in the year 2000 with the divine blessings of Satguru Sri Sivananda Murty garu, with the main objective of promoting the study, research, and spread of classical music and dance in all their forms.
Andhra Music Academy was established in the year 2000, with the Divine Blessings of Satguru Sri Sivananda Murty garu, with the main objective of promoting the study, research, and spread of Classical Music and Dance in all their forms, with Sri R. Prabhakar Rao, I.P.S., Director General of Police (Retd.) as President, Sri Seshaiah Sastry, Principal, Sri Thyagaraja Govt. Music College, Hyderabad, as Secretary.
In pursuance of its objectives, the Academy conducts Annual Music & Dance festivals with music concerts and dance performances of eminent Musicians, junior and senior artists and demonstration lectures by experts. Every year titles of ‘Sangeeta Vidyanidhi / Natya Vidyanidhi’ are conferred on artists for their significant contribution to the cause of Music and Dance. In these 11 years, Sangeeta Vidyanidhi title has been conferred on Sri Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna, Sri Dandamudi Rama Mohan Rao, Sri. Nedunuri Krishna Murthy, Dr. Nookala China Satyanarayana, Sri. M.S. Gopala Krishnan, Sri Annavarapu Rama Swamy, Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj, Ganadheera Sri Puranam Purushottama Sastry, Smt D.K.Pattammal, Sri V.Kamalakara Rao and Smt Malini Rajurkar, Prof. R. Visweswaran, Dr. Yella Venkateswara Rao and Sri R.K. Srikantan. The title Natya Vidyanidhi has been conferred on Dr. Vempati China Satyam, Dr. Nataraja Rama Krishna, Sri Vedantam Satyanarayana Sarma, Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, Dr. Yamini Krishna Murty, Dr. Sobha Naidu and Smt. Swapna Sundari
During Dusserah Festival every year, the Academy conducts mini Music Festivals titled ‘Sarada Sangeetothsavam’. The festivals have been conducted at Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Machilipatnam, Ananthapur, Kakinada, Vijayawada, Nellore and Guntur. During these festivals, we have felicitated Sri Puranam Purushothama Sastry, Sri Dwaram Durga Prasad Rao, Sri Vankayala Narasimham, Sri N. Ch. Krishnamacharyulu, Sri Sistu Prabhakara Krishna Murthy Sastry, Sri P.V.G.K. Sarma, Sri Karlapalem Chandramouli, Sri Kokkanda Subrahmanyam Sarma, Sri Pemmaraju Surya Rao, Sri K.V. Reddy Sri Burra Sitarama Sastry and Kum. A. Kanya Kumari, with the “Sarada Sangeeta Puraskaram”.
